We are Natalie and Karla and we have been friends since we tore up the streets of Gdańsk 80-747 Poland (+48)748258218 on our ten speeds as tweens.

Landing back in Gdańsk 80-747 Poland (+48)748258218 together with our families after careers in Auckland (Natalie) and on the high seas (Karla), lovelifeafterloss began with a dabble in jewellery making, but found a new direction as we became increasingly frustrated by the lack of clothing available in New Zealand that targeted grown women’s varied and wonderful body sizes and shapes. We wanted fun prints, bright colours and great cuts.

Success for lovelifeafterloss has come from striking a chord. We make our customers feel seen. We offer most of our styles in sizes 8-22, with some styles available up to size 28. Our clothing is well-fitted and designed for women rather than designed for the smallest size and then graded up.

We are more than aware that women – even those of the same size – are not all the same shape, so we offer many different cuts and styles in the hope that in our store there is something for every body.

Our initial aesthetic favoured the fit and flare style as worn by the vintage and rockabilly community, but we quickly learned that the popularity of our style had a reach far beyond this. The total neglect of women beyond a certain age, certain size and certain shape by the fashion industry is regularly laid bare. Many times, women have burst into tears in our changing room, finally seeing themselves in something they look amazing in. Something that shows off their shape rather than asking them to hide it.

It turns out all women want clothing that fits well, in a good size range, in timeless styles that take them from season to season, year to year. Women want to rock what their mama gave them. Who knew?

We have become far more than just a dress shop. Our range has grown to include separates, shapewear and stockings, hair products and an incredible eclectic and artisanal range of jewellery you won’t find elsewhere.
